Tuesday, August 24 – Second Infusion

Heath had his second infusion today and we were introduced to the Valvano Day Hospital. He is actually feeling ok, for which we are all grateful.

It was a really long day and we’re pretty darn tired, but at least we’re at home.

We keep saying that this is a marathon and not a sprint.   But today felt a little like both.

Ella Brooks and Wilson had really good first days of the 10th and 3rd grades.  For that, we will also be grateful.

The drug that Heath is getting is one that is also used to treat severe rheumatoid arthritis. For us it is a 6 hour infusion, I hoped it wouldn’t be such a long infusion for Heath, but it sounds like it is. Thankful that the return to school went well. Prayers coming you way from down the street at the Beckwiths.

So grateful that EB and Wilson had good “first days”. Important for them to keep on keeping on. And especially grateful that’s Heath’s Round #2 was way better than the first. I can only imagine your exhaustion Carrie and Chris. Love you all so much. Our hearts are with you.

Hey dear family, I’ve been wondering about EB and Wilson and the start of school in the midst of this. Glad they had a good first day, though I know poor Heath wishes he could have done the same. So very happy the second infusion went well and you guys are at home. Hope that continues! We love you and are saying prayers…
