How You Can Help

A note from Chris and Carrie

October 18

We know that everyone wants to help and we honestly don’t know what we will need in the coming weeks. Here’s where things stand right now. We’ll update this page as things change during this journey.

Meals

We’re grateful for everyone who has offered to help in this way. All of the open spots this year have been taken. Thank you. Thank you. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b4facab2ca1f94-dinner

Gift cards

Carrie and Heath made a list of some of our favorite restaurants and shopping spots where your gift cards can help as we’re coming and going.

  • Noodles & Co.
  • Starbucks (soooo helpful at Duke!)
  • Jason’s Deli
  • Chick-fil-A
  • Target
  • Amazon
  • First Watch
  • Jersey Mike’s
  • Dunkin Donuts
  • Local Durham: Saladelia, Pop’s Pizza, Bull & Bean, Bean Traders, Hwy 54 Public House, Chubby’s

Electronic gift cards can be emailed to carolinetuttle@gmail.com

Physical gift cards can be dropped off at First Presbyterian Church in Burlington or Westminster Presbyterian Church in Durham.

Please do not donate money

We are not fundraising. Please do not donate money to anyone who says they are collecting for us. Unfortunately, scammers take advantage of times like these.

We have good health insurance that is taking care of us.

What we need most

The best way you can help is to continue to keep all of us in your prayers, get vaccinated and wear your mask, and care for one another and the world.

Your comments will warm our hearts, lift our spirits, and keep us feeling connected to all of you.

with love,

Chris & Carrie

A Note from the Editor

I’ve eaten with the Tuttles enough to provide some advice on food favorites and those to avoid. If you’re planning to share a meal, this info might be helpful.

Kid favorites: mac and cheese, cheese pizza, ham and cheese or plain cheese sub sandwiches (no condiments), bagels, bread, fruit (especially strawberries and cantaloupe.)

Carrie’s sensitivities: When Carrie is stressed, onions and spicy foods upset her stomach. You can safely assume that applies right now! Carrie is also not a fan of mayo.

Chris is a good sport and he loves all the food you share and perhaps some red wine to go along with it. He credits Carrie and his mother-in-law with expanding his love of (tolerance of?) vegetables.

There are no known food allergies in the house.
